About Dako

Dako is an independent software studio. We make small, gentle apps: software that asks for two minutes of your day and then leaves you alone. We also take on a few client projects a year; see Services.

How we work

• One thing at a time. Our apps do a single job and do not try to become a habit you can't put down.
• Your data stays with you. No accounts, no servers, no ads, no trackers. What you do in the app is stored only on your phone.
• Paintings, not dashboards. We would rather show you a picture than a chart.
• Honest words. We do not make health claims, and we do not promise outcomes. We make small things that are nice to do.

Current project

Orange Lantern (小橘灯): one small thing a day, about two minutes long, with a painting. In development. We write about how it is made in Articles.

Who

Dako is a very small team. Design, code, writing and art direction all happen in one place, which is why everything we ship is small too.
